一、Certification Introduction

FAC Certification (Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology Certification) is a mandatory certification system jointly implemented by the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and the Metrology Certification Bureau. It aims to ensure that product quality complies with Russia’s technical requirements and safety standards. FAC certification, also known as Russian wireless equipment certification, ensures that products installed in or connected to public telecommunications networks meet relevant Russian regulatory requirements.

Starting from May 7, 2007, Russia introduced a new licensing requirement for wireless equipment for customs clearance purposes. According to the current legislation, all companies dealing with such products (e.g., wireless surveillance systems, remote controls, wireless household appliances, car anti-theft systems, walkie-talkies, and other wireless devices with transmitters and receivers) must apply to the Russian Radio Frequency Center and submit a specialized wireless equipment license, which is different from the GOST certificate.

Virtually all R modules and all telecommunications products must obtain an FAC certificate before entering the Russian market.
